ABOUT ASCENT ULTIMATE FRISBEE

The COVID-19 pandemic was devastating for the Ultimate Frisbee community in Seattle and shortly after many athletic programs shut down in July of 2020 we begun holding small-group socially distanced sessions. Beginning with just coaching middle school players we have since expanded to other age ranges and have adapted our activities for each.

WHAT WE PROVIDE

We currently work with middle, elementary, and even Pre-K age groups. We cater our regimen of drills and activities to each group with more of a focus on general physical activity for our younger players. For our older groups we also delve into detailed technique work but for all ages we still teach the fundamentals of the sport including throwing and cutting

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Ultimate Frisbee is unique in that players are responsible for making decisions about rules without a referee or third party. This principle has fostered a culture of mutual respect and cooperation in Ultimate leagues around the world. We hope to embody these ideals by introducing players of any age to conflict resolution and teamwork. Intense competition is a vital part of the sport but our players' enjoyment is our highest priority.

COVID PRECAUTIONS

Since our organization began, we have taken a great deal of care to ensure that we are not placing our players or their families at risk. We still mandate that all players wear masks in all programs and we have remained well within suggested King County guidelines for group sizes. We are proud to confirm that we have not had a positive COVID-19 diagnosis for any of our coaches, players, or their close families. All coaching staff are fully vaccinated as well.
